Although there isn’t a direct ferry from Cebu to Siargao island, you may still find information on it below. This map illustrates your options for getting a ferry. You must go through Surigao, which is shown on the map below as well.

The boat ride from Cebu to Siargao in will take about 11-13 hours, covering a distance of 245 kilometers. 

Alternatively you can take a flight via a local airline.

Ferry Cebu to Siargao Information

As was already mentioned, Cebu does not have a direct ferry to Siargao. In order to go to Surigao, you must first take a ferry from Cebu and change ferries there. If you’re searching for a car ferry from Cebu to Siargao, the same applies.

Starlite Ferries is the primary ferry company that serves the Cebu–Surigao route. Every evening they set off, arriving the following morning in Surigao City. On this route, Cokaliong Shipping is also available, a competing ferry company.

Take an Evaristo & Sons Sea Transport direct ferry to Siargao once you land in Surigao City.

Cebu To Siargao Boat Schedule

Section 1: Surigao to Cebu

The Cebu to Siargao ferry schedule for 2024 includes an overnight ferry that departs from Cebu City at approximately 9 p.m. and arrives in Surigao City at approximately 7 a.m. This is about a ten-hour journey on the ferry.

Section 2: Siargao to Surigao

The second leg of your trip takes around 1.5 hours by ferry, which leaves Surigao City for Siargao a few times daily.

Once you reach Surigao, board another Evaristo & Sons Sea Transport ferry that is headed for Dapa, Siargao.

This ferry operates between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the time of posting, though the exact times vary depending on the season.

It’s common for schedules and tickets to become available just a few weeks beforehand, so save this page to your favorites and come back as it gets closer to your travel dates, if needed.

Look online for special events: Occoasionally there are special events, with a higher cover charge.

Cebu To Siargao By Boat Fare Cost

Part 1: Cebu to Surigao

Tickets on this route start from around ₱1,200 for a reclining seat. There are other pricier options can pay more for that include a bed or a private cabin.

Part 2: Surigao to Siargao

Once you arrive in Surigao, go to the ticket booth and take a Siargao-bound ferry; tickets start from about ₱520 for the cheapest seats. There are however also tourist class and business class tickets if you want a little more space and comfort.

Prices are always changing for the Cebu to Siargao ferry route, so be sure to check the links I included for latest pricing. I also recommend that you purchase your Cebu to Siargao boat fare in ahead of time especially if you’re traveling on weekends or during the peak holiday season.

Siargao to Cebu Ferry

To find out how to travel the Siargao to Cebu ferry instead, simply follow the previously specified transit choices in reverse.

There is no direct ferry from Siargao to Cebu, just like the trip from Cebu to Siargao. You have to go via Surigao and take two ferries.

Section 1: Surigao to Siargao

From Dapa, Siargao, a ferry travels, arriving in Surigao City. Tickets for the 1 hour and 30 minute travel start at ₱515.

After reaching Surigao City, take a different ship to Cebu City. It leaves at 9am and takes about 10 hours to reach its destination.

Getting To Cebu Port

It is recommended that you take a taxi from the main city center to Cebu Port. Make sure they use the meter!

Go to Pier 3 if you intend to board the Starlite Ferry after arriving at Manuel Quezon Boulevard. Meanwhile, visit Pier 1 in Cebu City if you would rather board a Cokaliong ferry.

Once you reach the port, make your way straight to the ferry company’s ticket office.

Getting To Surigao Port

You will already be at the port where your next ferry to Siargao will depart from once you arrive in Surigao.

In addition to being completely air-conditioned and well-maintained, the port offers free WiFi for visitors. Within the terminal are food kiosks and reasonably clean restrooms.

Getting To Siargao Port

The main maritime entry point to Siargao, a well-known surfing destination in the Philippines, is the Port of Dapa. This is the terminal where you must travel if you’re returning to Surigao City and the point of entrance for Siargao Island.

A pier and dock totaling 130 meters in length are part of the port. Despite the port’s small size, it offers free wifi and spotless amenities like bathrooms. Both online and in-person ticket purchases are available here.

Hire a habal-habal or tricycle to go to General Luna (or vice versa) after you arrive at the terminal, as this is where the majority of the lodging, motels, and restaurants are situated.

Alternative Way To Travel Cebu To Siargao?

There is a lot simpler option if riding two ferries seems like too much work and time: flying from Cebu to Siargao.

With daily flight durations of only an hour, Cebu Pacific, Cebgo, and Philippine Airlines operate flights here. If you book ahead of time or during a bargain, flight tickets can be really affordable.
